Lleyton Hewitt will return to captain Australia at the 2024 United Cup, with the former No. 1 in the Pepperstone ATP Rankings among the 18 captains announced on Monday for the upcoming tennis showcase.

One year after Hewitt and Sam Stosur served as Aussie co-captains at the inaugural United Cup, the 30-time tour-level singles champion returns as the sole captain for the hosts. David Witt, who helped lead the United States to the 2023 trophy, also returns in 2024 for the Americans' title defense.

Hewitt and Witt are joined by fellow returning captains Petros Tsitsipas (Greece), Edouard Roger-Vasselin (France), Iva Majoli (Croatia), Christian Ruud (Norway) and Rafael Paciaroni (Brazil).

Among the new captains at the upcoming event will be doubles World No. 8 Wesley Koolhof (Netherlands) and Torben Beltz (Germany).
